The age of standing up to imposing instructors is now.
In the recent season of football, on top breathtaking fixtures and tactical masterpieces from top coaches in the game, we have also witnessed players that have stood up for what they think is right. No matter the public opinion of an indevidual, it’s always very vital to speak out on what a person feels is right.
Benjamin white is the latest to make headlines about his low interest in being included in the england squad for the upcoming international break. We have seen notable names like Phil Foden and Jason Sancho be very vocal about their relationships with the coaches though all these have been under diff conditions but the unifying factor is that they are all English ππ.
what is Ben White’s story?
All this started at the world cup in Qatar when White left the Camp to join up with his Arsenal teammates in Dubai. There were many hypothesis of what would have been the reason for his early departure. Two (2) reasons seemed to be more prominent that is;
- A heated argument with a teammate that was so serious that both could no longer stay in an acre of space for 20 minutes.
- Disagreement with coach staff and in this the national team assistant coach Holland.
We can not certainly accept the point that he was a long distance from family so he left but headed to Dubai Arsenal camp. His family certainly doesn’t stay in Dubai and nether is it closer to England. It was something else.
Issues with a teammate has better weight than the previous excuse. Bearing in mind the recent game between Arsenal and Nottingham Forest in which White was seen having a heated argument with Zichenko. This is a game that they had won and we’re supposed to be happy together but the cause of that argument might stay hidden like the main ingredient in coca-cola. This guy rarely smiles atleast am certain of that.
This is my conclusion on White’s issues.
Since he has been so vocal of his reduced interest in football saying he never watched football, then I certainly think he is not ok with watching teammates like walker whose only skill is running very fast play ahead of him and feal sorry for himself.
- He must have told Southgate “either play me or I go and link up with people who not playing right now.”
- Arsenal being a headline maker for the last 2 seasons, someone wishing to make a name for themselves can achieve that by interacting with an Arsenal employee, eyes on you Holland.
Fil Foden and Pep
In an interview, Foden stressed the way he felt he was disrespected by the coach when he had a poor performance in a match and the couldn’t hold onto the disappointment untill the dressing room but confront him on the pitch and let him aware of the disappointment.
As a person with some self esteem he felt not at ease. He says he had to wait for the coach and also let him know he wasn’t happy with the approach used. In the interview he says he told the coach that he couldn’t have done that to any of the more the senior players. So, the bottom line is that Foden felt there was little respect towards the younger in the dressing room and felt he had to stand up for them.
we have seen similar cases involving pep and Earling Haaland at the start of the season and also with Kevin Debruin in the previous draw at Anfield vs Liverpool FC. This seem very popular with Pep and it’s fair to say that it always seems purely football related as players apart from Etoo have had disagreements with him longer and where necessary he has come out and apologized to the players.
Sancho and TenHag.
should we just admit many people don’t just like TenHag tactics and call it a day because, how can an idevedual have issues with fans and team players.
when the coach came out and criticized Sancho for his input in training and output for the team in matches and even claiming he was not at 100%, he needed to up his game. Sancho came out with a reply telling the coach he was rather feeling at his best and implying the issues was just more technically and the coaching staff being at the center of it. This resulted in his exile on the team an loaning him out to Dortmund where he has still mixed results on the pitch.
Main takeaways.
It is only top performances by a team that will direct the media away from the negative happenings in a team as these are always happening almost on a daily basis which is ok, handling these between the coaching staff and players and there leaders is one of the qualities of top teams. Only time will help us know of these qualities in the England team since we now have a deadline they is the Euros where they have to perform at all costs as we have been patient enough.
For Ben White, though every one is so focused on why he choose to inform the Coaches not to consider him and relating this to the previous happenings but, I will be positive and these are my thoughts.
- He is currently the best English right back in the country but coach seems to favour those he trusts most and most likely he was to be a backup hence he would rather stay back and hope to make a case for himself in the Euros squad probably if he ends up as a premier league champion.
- With the almost title deciding encounter with Manchester City in 19 days, could it be another trick that Edu and Arteta attempting because we have seen White being given more responsibility on the pitch since January.
- If it’s true that issues with the assistant coach then we just hope they can find a way to resolve the issue in time for the Euros because we certainly need to see top players from the league playing not kids like Bradley and Palmer.
we have seen cases between players and coaches; Samir Nasri & Alex Lacazette with Didier Deschamps, former Spain head coach and Madrid Players maybe because he was formerly a Barcelona coach and Madrid used to cause him night terrors.
As coaches still reserve the power to decide who plays, players have had few options to work with to force their way into the starting line up as the only option was getting the coach fired and hope the next one affords the chance to play. As players begin getting vocal the more, we hope this best a positive driving force toward getting played deservedly and not being benched because the coach found you including his name in a joke.
That’s all, thanks ππ
cheers.
